well.. this is an interesting New Years story to say the least. I know that at least some of you will find this funny.
Karl and I were on our way to his mom's house for new year's and we stopped at Kroger to get some batteries for my camera and cd player. Well, when we stopped at the light I noticed that smoke was comming out of the speakers on my dash, so I pulled into Walgreens because it was the closeset place. I turned the car off and got some stuff out (my purse and my blood meter along with my blanket and some clothes we had in the backseat). Karl grabbed my cd player and went back a second later for my phone and called his stepdad. At first we thought the car was simply overheated but the smoke got worse and worse and we kept backing farther away from the car. By now it was coming from both speaker and all the front vents, but not the engine, in fact the engine seemed to be fine. It wasn't too much longer before fire could be seen coming from the vents and both of us got inside the store and quickly got someone to call the fire department because we didn't have the number and my phone was nearly dead anyway. The smoke and flames were up about as high as the building by the time the fire department got there and about 4-5 police officers were there as well. I was pretty much histerical... not a happy person.. >.<; but all his cd's (at least $1000 worth), our new coffee maker, my favortie hat, and my digital camera.. were all in the car when it caught. It really really sucked... so now I've got no camera.

Anyone got any suggestions for a new one?
